LEVEL II and III – Matthew Budoff, M.D., FACC

Course entails fulfilling requirements for Level 2 credentialing.

  • Proctored to perform 50 live cases during a 5-day experience that includes patient and scanner setup, contrast injection, and image acquisition, reconstruction and post-processing. No video taped cases.
  • Troubleshoot issues and challenges that might be encountered in practice.
  • Systematically read cardiovascular CT studies with an advanced workstation with complete hands-on experience with 2 Level three instructors.
  • Between live cases and lectures each participant will have 150 case studies (comprising native coronary artery disease, bypass, stents, congenital heart disease, and peripheral vascular disease, incidental findings) to systematically read and interpret, over 300 cases and 150 cath correlations.
  • One workstation per person.

PERIPHERAL – Matthew Budoff, M.D., FACC and David Shavelle, M.D.

Two day course offers extensive review of vascular anatomy, appropriateness of use, image acquisition and post-processing of peripheral CT angiography, including systematic review methods and reporting. Cath correlations are also available. Extensive hands-on training with 3D post-processing workstation on more then 150 peripheral vascular cases and three level 3 teachers per course, including a peripheral interventionalist.

  • Review of peripheral vascular anatomy and introduction to multi-detector computed tomography.
  • Image acquisition, imaging review formats, and post-processing.
  • Physics and MDCT: Radiation doses and CT physics.
  • Introduction to peripheral arterial disease and cerebrovascular disease.
  • Renal artery stenosis: Clinical Implications and Treatment Strategies.
  • Lower extremity CTA, aortic evaluation with CTA, pre and post stent.
  • Carotid evaluation by CTA, renal artery CT angiography, peripheral CTA for interventional planning.
